A database of questions from Reddit’s r/AskDocs was used to compare physician responses to Chat GPT responses. Evaluators preferred chatbot responses 78.6% of the time, the proportion of responses rated as “good” or “very good” quality was 78.5% for chatbots and 22.1% for physicians. Chatbot responses were also rated 9.8 times more empathetic than physician responses.
